Spike lengths:
- Short, inner edge length of the spike is 35 mm
- Medium, inner edge length of the spike is 50 mm
- Long, inner edge length of the spike is 60 mm
For work in our latitudes we recommend using medium and long spikes.
Medium, or short spikes, are suitable for trees with smooth bark - beech, hornbeam, elm, ...
Long spikes are ideal for thick or furrowed bark - oak, poplar, willow, lower zone of mature pines, Douglas fir, ...
Warning:
It should be kept in mind that long spikes on a smooth beech trunk will unpleasantly twist your legs and in the long term significantly overload your knees and hips.
