The Twin Smith Captive is a steel, high-strength, unidirectional asymmetrical double-lock carabiner used as a rappel point for the final belay, or as an attachment carabiner to a climber's belay via top rope (fish). The reverse lock prevents the carabiner from twisting and thus increases safety. BEAL Twin Smith Captive carabiner is certified for both sport climbing and work.

Twin Gate is a revolutionary concept of a carabiner with two opposing locks (patented by Grivel/Simond). Twin Gate carabiners require nothing more than a special two-finger motion to open quickly, but this can be easily practiced. Twin Gate is a certainty in security that a screw lock or Twist Lock does not guarantee when used incorrectly. Twin Gate carabiners are available in two lock designs. Either there are two fixed locks against each other or a combination of a fixed and a wire lock.
