ROCK EXOTICA AKIMBO slack brake

The Akimbo is a unique arborist climbing tool that allows the climber to ascend, descend and position on both stationary rope and moving rope systems. The Akimbo features rope contact surfaces (upper and lower bollards) that adjust to a wide range of rope sizes to suit the needs or preferences of the climber - all without tools or component disassembly. Bollards can also be adjusted to increase or decrease friction to accommodate changes in climber weight, changes in environment, or to adapt to the natural wear of the Akimbo contact surfaces.

The Akimbo easily opens to allow the centerline of the rope to be removed or installed in seconds, and compresses back into a compact shape both on and off the rope. When climbing on a fixed rope, the attachment point of the chest harness allows a quick connection via an innovative wire gate. Unlike closed-loop attachments, the wire gate allows climbers to conveniently use a small carabiner without PPE to attach to the SRS connection point or directly to the cord loop.

APPROVED ROPE
The following ropes are approved for use with Akimbo at the Working Load Limit (WLL) listed below. Only approved ropes should be used with Akimbo. The working load is equal to the total weight of the climber including equipment. The total working load of the climber must not exceed the working load limit (WLL) for the rope listed below, otherwise slipping may occur!
