Product detailed description

ClickUp is a revolutionary semi-automatic belay device developed for sport climbing by Climbing Technology. Very easy to use, intuitive, lightweight and safe combined with effective fall arrest. In a word - perfect!

Awarded the Industry Award at the Outdoor Fair in Friedrichshafen 2009.

This little technical gem (100% MADE IN ITALY) has been further praised by qualified European periodicals as one of the most important novelties of OutDoor 2009.

There are many different circuit breakers on the market, from simple to automatic. They all have advantages and disadvantages - the disadvantages decrease the more experience the bondsman has. But not everyone is experienced and attentive at every moment. When developing the ClickUp breaker, the main objective was to develop a breaker that eliminates most of the disadvantages of the breakers on the market. The result is ClickUp, which works without the need to operate any lever or moving parts. The rope is automatically locked in the belay immediately when the climber falls simply with the HMS carabiner. Thanks to this, even a person with absolutely no experience can safely belay with ClickUp, knowing that in the event of unforeseen circumstances or a moment's inattention, ClickUp will automatically catch any fall of the climber! It is only necessary to lightly hold the free end of the rope under the belay. This is a decisive advantage over the "bucket" type breaker. On the other hand, the absence of any moving parts that have fully automatic belays eliminates the possibility of squeezing the moving lever and therefore the rope passing through and the climber falling to the ground. (The natural reflex to squeeze the lever when the climber falls unpredictably). To catch a fall, you only need to control the free end of the rope, as you are taught to do with most belay devices. At this moment the HMS carbine "CLICKS" into the self-locking position. For flawless operation of the belay device it is only necessary to maintain the correct position of the HMS carabiner in the ClickUp - see instructions.

To lower, apply slight pressure from the top side of the ClickUp to unlock the rope. The speed of lowering is regulated by pressure on the belay and the other hand holding the free end of the rope.

In case you need to belay again after a fall or after dismounting the first climber, simply slide the belay upwards from yourself, the "UP" movement will return the carabiner to the basic position for belaying. The rope must of course be unloaded at this point.

If the first-timer pulls the rope sharply to get enough of it to click into the expresso, the HMS carabiner can "CLICK" into the self-locking position.

In this case, simply push the CliCkUp away from you with one hand and the HMS carabiner will return to the non-braking position and the climber can continue picking up the rope. Of course, the climber is also safely secured during this operation.

The manufacturer has also thought about the fact that it may happen that the belayer puts the rope in the belayer in the opposite way. ClickUp is the only belay device on the market that catches the climber's fall even if the rope is inserted incorrectly! In this case, the ClickUp does not function as a semi-automatic belay device, but as a classic belay bucket thanks to the V-shaped grooves for increased braking effect. These grooves are on both sides, so it doesn't matter if you are right or left handed. However, this is not recommended by the manufacturer and serves only as an emergency, but at the same time safe way out in a situation when the rope is put in the belay in the opposite direction.

CLICKUP meets or exceeds the requirements of the new UIAA standards.
